Happy Halloween!!!

So last night was quite hilarious, but you must understand the story behind the madness before you can appreciate our ridiculousness! So our landlord decided to hire a property manager who is completely nuts. She has convinced him to raise rent, not allow us to leave our things in the storage room and has been driving us absolutely crazy. At any rate, she took a bunch of Mercedes' things out of the storage room while she was in Indiana which was completely unnecessary so instead of putting our notice in for January 1, we told her we would be out by December 1st. She wrote Merci an email yesterday telling her she would be by today to take pictures of the place so below is what we decided would be a great thing to leave on the coffee table when she walked in to take pictures :)Yes, we are so incredibly immature, but whatever, it was fun. Below is some more of the craziness! And Dylan using his artistic skills to try and impress us!!!
No comment!Merci and Losey's pumpkins!

Oh how it's nice to feel good training.

Even though I didn't really put in much volume this week, I have been able to put out some very solid efforts in each session. I am hoping this early taper really gets me ready for Clearwater as I'm getting much more anxious and excited to go out there and kick butt :)

The weather around here is hilarious. It was in the 40s and crappy all day yesterday but then 75 and sunny all day today! I think it's supposed to stay this way for a while so cross your fingers! On a totally different note, my friend from high school is moving out here in December to teach in Denver and be a ski instructor up at Winter Park. How exciting!!! It will be so fun to have someone else from Rochester Hills, Michigan out here to experience this place with me! Alright, well I'm off to do a little more work so I can have a 'non-hectic' Monday :) Haha...I don't think that's really possible! Nighty night.

What a weird fall.

Yes, I have been absolutely terrible at updating on a daily basis, but other than training and working, I really haven't been up to much.

The weather here in Boulder has been absolutely amazing this week...70s and low 80s! My training has also gotten back on track which has been quite nice as well. I have gotten much more motivated for Worlds this week as well as all the exciting things that will be happening post Worlds...Thanksgiving, visiting the fam, lasik, skiing, you name it! However, training and staying focused is the priority right now so those things will just have to wait :)

Off to lasik appointment #2...hopefully they have the same things to say as #1!!!

Running in hail SUCKS!

...and it hurts like hell too! However, swimming outside in a warm pool with snow hitting your face every time you breath is quite enjoyable :)

Sunday was a little change from the insane winds and 81* weather on Saturday. Woke up and went out for the long run only to turn around about 10min out due to a huge hail storm that eventually turned into snow. Went for a fun swim instead and then headed out on the mountain bikes with Shep and James. I almost forgot how much I love mountain biking for a bit!!!

Catching mice...

...that's what I've been up to these days!

No joke either. The bike house has a huge mouse problem and it's getting to be quite disgusting. The traps that have been set out previously haven't worked and the stupid critters kept eating the food on them and then just getting away. So finally, Shep decided to put the trap in the garage right where their secret entrance into the house/garage is located and we caught 7 in less than 12 hours...and we actually caught 3 in less than 20 minutes yesterday too. It was grosser than anything, but pretty freakin' hilarious all at the same time.

Trying to stay motivated for worlds, but it's getting colder each day and staying in bed longer and longer each morning just sounds soooooooooooo good!

Brrrr...I think Fall has arrived!

Boulder definitely got a tastes of what cooler weather feels like! It was 45* and raining pretty much the entire time. Not so great for biking or running, but kinda fun to swim in outside I guess. It's always interesting swimming in pool water that is almost 50* warmer than the outside air temperature.

Had fun shopping with the girls drinking margaritas at the Rio on Friday and then eating cinnamon buns and watching terrible musicals on TV last night!

T-a little less than 4 weeks!

It's Kona time!!!

Good luck to everyone racing at the Ironman World Championships today in Kona! Joanna Zeiger, Brad Seng, Billy Edwards, Michael Lovato, Macca, Kerrie & Glen, all my fellow Timex teammates, and of course every other individual from Boulder who is there! Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day with lots of excitement! Go out there and kick it everybody, I'll be right here cheering you on :)

Exactly one month from today...

This girl is an official BMW owner!!!

Okay, that's kinda scary, but also kinda cool too. Either way, the 12 hour ride from Iowa to Colorado on a motorcycle was quite an adventure. I haven't really ridden on motorcycle for more than an hour at a time, and believe it or not, it is HARD work! Every muscle in your body is working and vibrating for hours while you get tossed around at 75mph by the crazy winds and gusts from cars and trucks! It was definitely an experience, but lots of fun. Now it's time to get the bike perfected for ME and everything will be great. Props to my boy Andrew who was kind enough to drive out with me to check everything out and follow my ass all the way home...and of course ride the first and last sections of the trip because it was either raining or I was so tired and cold I couldn't continue...you're the best Shep!!!

It's Motorcycle time BABY!!!

The decision has been made. I'm selling the Suzuki and upgrading to a BMW 650 GS! OH YEAH!!! Andrew and I will be driving to Iowa after my long run this morning and driving it back tomorrow. Come on people, to switch rides like this for under $1000, you would have to be crazy not to! Alright, off to run and try to get the legs back after a crap ride yesterday!!!

And it's training time again!

Either I completely forgot how to do two really hard sessions in one day, or my body just didn't want to. Regardless, yesterday was the first day back doing very hard intervals in a few weeks and it responded both good and bad. Had a kick ass track session in the morning with the best pacing I've had yet this year, but totally blew up on my weekly power session on the bike trainer. Very frustrating, but I'm learning that not every session can be perfect and that this was a great example.

It's still absolutely beautiful here in Boulder with temps in the high 70s during the day. However, the mornings are starting to get quite brisk with 40* temps and soon to be 30s!!! That's stellar news for skiing, but I need to stay focused until the first week of November and then I can go play! Well other than that, I'm doing well. I think I might have a little cold coming on, but I'm trying the best I can to fight it off with lots of vitamins and such. I also have my eye on a beautiful BMW motorcycle that I need to confer with Andrew about tonight when he gets back from France! Stay tuned for updates on that because we may be taking a little road trip to Iowa to get it!!! UH OH!!!
